Located on the top floor of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan in the University of Pune Campus, the Department has a sanctioned faculty strength of eight members, all of whom are actively involved in teaching and research. In keeping with the initial focus of the Department, the thrust area of research of the Faculty remains Western India in the Medieval and Modern periods of Indian history.
