is through
a centralized
GRADUATE
APTITUDE
TEST-BIOTECHNOLOGY
(GAT-B)
conducted
for the
DBT-supported
PG Programmes
in Biotechnology
in participating
institutions
across India:
M.Sc. Biotechnology,
M.Sc. Agricultural
Biotechnology,
M.V.Sc.,
M.Tech.
Biotechnology
and M.Sc.
in Allied
areas, by
Regional
Centre for
Biotechnology
(RCB), Faridabad.
Only those
candidates
who have
passed or
are appearing
for the
qualifying
examinations
(B.Sc.)
are eligible
to apply
in this
competitive
entrance
exam (GAT-B).

SELECTION
PROCEDURE:
After declaration
of Result
of GAT-B
2020, candidate
will download
the rank
card/ score
card from
RCB Faridabad.
The RCB
website
will also
display
the name
of participating
universities/institutes
and courses
being offered
under DBT
support
and respective
eligibility
conditions.
The rank
card/score
card holder
will visit
the concerned
university’s/institute’s
website
for re-confirmation
of eligibility
conditions
of admission.
Eligible
candidates
will have
to fill
application
form (Click
here to
fill the
form for
Department
of Biotechnology,
SPPU)
of individual
University/Institute
as per their
guidelines.
After display
of admission
list by
concerned
University/Institute,
students
will contact
the respective
Program
Coordinator
of DBT supported
PG Course
for seeking
admission
and completing
the required
formalities.
The students
are requested
to confirm
the admission
by submitting
the admission
form and
the necessary
fees within
two weeks
after the
receipt
of the list.
Tentative
list of

Matriculation,
Higher
Secondary
Pre-University
of Indian
School
Certificate
or Senior
School
Certificate
(10+2)
or an
equivalent
examination
certificate,
showing
the
age/date
of birth
of the
candidate
duly
attested
by the
Principal
of the
College/School
last
attended
or a
Gazetted
Officer;
-
A character
Certificate
from
the
head
of the
Institution
last
attended;
-
Two
attested
copies
of the
statement
of marks
obtained
by the
candidate
in Senior
School,
Bachelor’s
Degree/Master
Degree
Examination
etc;
or their
equivalent
examination;
-
Two
attested
copies
of the
Bachelor’s
Degree
and/Master’s
Degree;
-
SC/ST/OBC
Certificate,
if belonging
to SC/ST/OBC
category;
-
A medical
Certificate
for
PH Candidates
certifying
nature
& percentage
of disability
issued
by the
competent
medical
authority;
-
Migration
Certificate
(in
original)
from
the
Head
of the
Institution/University
last
attended.
Important:
The candidates
are also
required
to produce
all originals
of the above
certificates/documents
for verification
at the time
of registration/admission.
In the absence
of any of
the original
certificates/documents,
registration/admission
shall not
be allowed.
Outside
Maharashtra
candidates
belonging
to SC/ST/OBC
category
will be
treated
as Open
category
in terms
of semester
fee submissions
with no
concessions
provided
on the grounds
of reservation.
SCHOLARSHIP/
FELLOWSHIP:
Students
selected
for admission
to M.Sc.
Biotechnology
(General)
Programme
at this
Department
will be
eligible
to receive
scholarship
at the rate
of Rs. 5000/-
p.m. from
Department
of Biotechnology,
Govt. of
India.

Procedure

PhD (Biotechnology)
Programme:
The admissions
for the
PhD are
carried
out by PhD
Entrance
Test (PET)
examination
conducted
by Savitribai
Phule Pune
University
every year.
The students
who have
qualified
NET/SET/GATE
examinations
are exempted
from the
PET examination.
However,
they have
to fill
the form
for exemption
from PET
for PhD
admissions
when the
portal for
PhD admissions
open on
our SPPU
website.
