Achievements

  • The centre is successfully running computer training program for students with disabilities through courses, workshop and seminars. So far 500 + students are trainned.

  • The participation of the students with visual impairment in various under graduate and graduate program is increased by the centers efforts.

  • The centre rehabilitated 70 + students with disabilities by placing them in various nationalize banks, government organizations and educational institutions.

  • The centre created awareness in 5000 + teachers, students, researchers, NGOs working for welfare of students with disabilities and assistive technology developers about the special educational needs of students with disabilities through sensitization program and seminars etc.

  • The centre initiated accessibility research in very less resources, man power and funding which is very unique activity in India and generated quality research publications in international conferences proceedings and journels.

  • The centre has conducted 30 + training programs of 2 to 5 days duration on web accessibility.

  • 2 government websites of government of Maharashtra has received national award for best accessible website to which we have supported for accessibility implementation.

  • Director of the centre Prof. Sanjeev Sonawane has received NCPEDP Helen kellar Award in 2017 for providing employment of persons with disabilities.

  • Academic coordinator of the centre has received national award for empowerment of persons with disabilities in 2011 and Universal Design Award 2018 from consortium of NGOs and Industries.
