Centre for
Sensor Studies (CSS)
is the state-of-the-art facility situated on the campus of Pune University, Campus comprising custom-designed laboratories, a range of
specialist's support units and equipment, and dedicated technical and
administrative staff. It was established in 2006 with funding from
University grant commission. Centre for sensor studies is a renowned,
large-scale, multidisciplinary research facility focused on the science and
applications of physical, chemical and biosensors. The CSS vision is the
promotion of sensor technology for societal and economic benefit.
The aim of the centre is to promote the transfer of research knowledge
generated by its members, to the wider economy to enhance economic growth.
They specialize in adding value to the outcomes of research at an early
stage and foster links between emerging technologies developed by university
researchers and the financial and entrepreneurial resources of industry and
business.
The centre has a
flexible approach to the management of intellectual property to adapt to the
specific needs of industrial partners. Collaborative projects can range from
long-term fundamental research to short-term feasibility studies to minimize
initial investment costs. Also, a number of support mechanisms are available
from national & international funding agencies to support collaborative
research.
