Each year we admit about three to four students for Ph. D. programme. Guidance / supervision / mentorship for Ph. D. is offered in all thrust areas of research. Over the last 22 years Department has successfully trained about 25 M.Phil and 10 Ph. D. students . Our Alumni are well placed in industry, research and academic institutions in India and abroad. Department always encourages motivated students for Ph. D. programme and such students are supported through various programmes. At present about 15 Ph. D. students are working in the Department. Department attracts large number of students from India and abroad for Ph. D. programme in Microbiology. Admission to the Ph. D. course is made at any time during the academic year.

Admissions of foreign students for Ph.D. are routed and made through International Students Centre of the University of Pune.
