SPECIALISED DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARY

(Established in 1978)

The Department has a well equipped library of its own, which was started under UGC’s University Leadership Programme (ULP) in 1978-83. Which has about 10626 books, bought under grants from the University Leadership Programme (ULP), the DSA, ASIHSS, UPE, CAS and CSSH Programmes of the University and UGC.

There are also some books which have been received as donations from sources like the Shastri- Indo-Canadian Institute, Joan Mencher, Dr. Savitri Sahani, Prof. D.N. Dhanagare, Prof. Bhoite U.B .and others.

The Departmental Library is a regular subscriber of newspapers like The Hindu, Indian Express (English) and Sakal, Loksatta (Marathi).

Digital Research Labs:

The Digital computer laboratory has more than 10 working stations PCs with internet facilities (wi-fi) for the use of Faculty from affiliated colleges, Research students from Sociology department and other social science departments and all students in the Department. Department has the latest configured computers with all necessary software's are installed on it. One PC with SPSS software (23rd version) is also provided through CSHH, UP-II, U.G.C. grant.
