INDIAN ARMY RESIDENT SCHOLAR PROGRAMME


The Indian Army has instituted the Indian Army Resident Scholars Programme in the year 1985. Under this programme Army Officers of the rank of Colonel or Brigadier spend one to two years of their study leave in the Department to conduct research on a topic that is of interest and of benefit to the Indian Army and submit report to the DDSS on their topic. They also participate in the teaching programme of the Department and give seminars on their research work.

The Department also has a provision for the Indian Army Resident Scholars to register for M.Phil. The Department admits four Officers every year for the M.Phil. Programe. The admission process for this is routed through the office of the Col (Trg) Southern Command of the Indian Army.
