The
Centre for
Network Computing (CNC),
was established by the Savitribai Phule Pune University on 16th December 1997,
independently to focus on activities related to networking and the
Internet. Since its inception, CNC has maintained and managed the
campus wide, state of the art, optical fiber based network and
provided the necessary software and other support for network and
Internet related requirements of the university. CNC houses three
Indigo 2 - Solid Impact (R10000 based) Silicon Graphics machines in
addition to other servers like Sun Sparc 5 station and Intel Pentium
based servers.
CNC offers
Consultancy
in a
number of areas, and is backed by the expertise and experience of
faculty members from various departments on campus. For software
development, the centre also relies on a vast pool of post graduate
and research scholars proficient in various fields of software
technology and diverse computational platforms.
