Research Experience:
University of Pune: Currently working for Ph.D. entitled, "Culture
Studies of some Aphyllophorales", under the guidance of Dr. J.G.
Vaidya, Reader, Department of Botany, University of Pune. The work
is being carried out for selected species of Phellinus.
Agharkar Research Institute: Worked as JRF on Study of Forest
Microfungi and Fungal identification Service for 2 years. During
this tenure, worked on isolation and identification of Endophytic
Fungi in axenic cultures from Medicinal Plants, Isolation and
Characterization of pigments from Endophytic Fungi, Identification
of Ascomycetous fungi and separation of UV active componets using
Chromatographic Techniques.
Agharkar Research Institute: Worked as Research Student on Forest
Microfungi for one year which included identification of
Entomopathogenic fungi, their isolation in axenic cultures,
physiological studies and various techniques for preservation and
maintainance of various fungal cultures.
University of Pune (M.Sc. Project): Worked on "Identification of
Wood Inhabiting Fungi in Western Ghats" under the the guidance of
Dr. J.G. Vaidya, Reader, Department of Botany, University of Pune.
ICRISAT (International Crop Research Institute For Semi Arid
Tropics) : Worked on Studies of Chickpea wilt [Fusarium oxysporum f.
sp. Ciceri (Pedwick) Synd & Hans] and Techniques for Seed Health
Testimg in Plant Quarantine" under research guide Dr. S.D. Singh.
Ranbaxy Laboratories (Training Programme during graduation) : This
short training programme was carried out in RND, Ranbaxy
Laboratories, New Delhi on Polymerase Chain Reaction and Hybridoma
Technology.
