DSA

The UGC sanctioned the DSA programme to the Department in January 1988 in the area of ‘Sociology of Development’. In the first phase of its grant the programme sponsored faculty to teach development studies, upgrade the library of the Department and award scholarships to students in M.A. A second phase was granted from January 1996 for the duration of five years ending in academic year 2000-2001. A third phase was granted from April 2003 to March 2008.
